Something new

(The unknown)

I go into a house where tension lives. Its origin is unknown. Wind blows unhampered and sucks curtains wildly in and out. After a time I become aware of an upstairs to the house. How is it that I never noticed it before? I think about the house as an architect would. Where is the space above and below? Where is the plumbing? How does it match? In so doing, I discover rooms I had not known where there. I must have walked by doors a dozen times, yet I never saw them. When I turn my attention there, one room is hazy, grey, the door cracked open. Another door is closed tight, and I know it is very dark in there. I visualize opening the doors and letting air and light in. I go over the walls inch by inch with my hands to make sure I haven't missed anything.
